Mail Server Settings for Email Clients

NOTE: You must use the server hostnames specified below, even if the client has his own custom domain name. The LetsEncrypt certificate on our mail server is valid for mail.daystar.io, imap.daystar.io, and smtp.daystar.io. It is not signed for other domains.

NOTE: It may be worth checking for banned IP addresses if an account just doesn't want to set up correctly. This can happen if there's too many failed setup attempts.

IMAP information for the incoming mail server

  • Server name: imap.daystar.io
  • SSL Required: Yes If you see an error when using SSL, try using TLS instead.
  • Port for IMAP: 993
    • Use Port 995 if configuring for POP3
  • Authentication: Normal password
  • Username: Your full Daystar email address
  • Password: The password for your email account

SMTP information for the outgoing mail server

  • Server name: smtp.daystar.io
  • SSL Required: Yes
  • TLS Required: Yes (if available)
  • Port for TLS/STARTTLS: 587
  • Port for SSL: 465
  • Authentication: Normal Password
  • Username: Your full Daystar email address
  • Password: The password for your email account
