Add a Daystar account to Windows Mail

The Windows Mail app sometimes suffers from reliability and stability issues. Thunderbird is the recommended email client for Windows; click here to add a Daystar account to Thunderbird.

  1. Open the Mail app by clicking the Windows Start menu and choosing Mail.

    • If this is the first time you've opened the Mail app, you’ll see a Welcome page. Select Add account to get started.

    • If you've used the Mail app before, click the Settings icon at the bottom of the left navigation pane, then select Manage Accounts and choose Add account.

  2. Choose Advanced setup, then select Internet email.

  3. Enter the following information:

    • Email address - Your full email address
    • User name - Your full email address
    • Password - Enter your email account password
    • Account name - This is the name that you'll see in Mail. You can choose any name you want.
    • Send your messages using this name - Enter the name you want recipients to see when they receive your message.
    • Incoming email server -
    • Account type - IMAP4
    • Outgoing (SMTP) email server -
    • Ensure that all four checkboxes at the bottom of the setup window are enabled.
  4. Click Sign in, then Done.
